Edge Detector

March 1, 2005

AccuWeb has introduced the WideArray Fusion, a patent pending edge detector that combines ultrasonic and infrared technologies in a dynamically compensated array edge detector. Designed for converters running a broad range of materials, the new Wide Array Fusion edge detector delivers optimum performance in any environment. The WideArray Fusion is compatible with Micro 1000  and Micro 4000NET controllers, which automatically select ultrasonic or infrared detection modes, based on material properties. Dynamic compensation, an exclusive AccuWeb technology, eliminates guide point drift due to process contaminants such as dust or dirt, environmental factors such as temperature or humidity and passline variations caused by web movement or flutter.  AccuWeb compensated edge detectors use a separate reference beam that recalibrates every four milliseconds, assuring a true web path while eliminating the need for operator adjustments.
