Non-contact Differential Speed Measurement System

February 1, 2005

New from Beta LaserMike is a non-contact differential speed measurement system with an easy-to-use solution that allows the manufacturer to measure the difference in speed at two different points in the manufacturing line. The system offers many benefits to the manufacturing process. It monitors product stretch or draw to ensure proper thickness and to prevent breaks, and ensures that the two products being joined together during lamination are moving at proper speeds. It also documents product quality by importing differential speed data into a statistical analysis package. Additionally, it provides easy system integration through flexible I/O options. This system simplifies line operation through a user-friendly interface. The system offers a differential speed resolution of 0.01% and a bright, easy-to-read LED display. It features an output of differential speed measurement for connecting to a PLC or SPC analysis program and is equipped with LaserTrak software for diagnostics and monitoring individual speeds.
