A disposable cutting sheet for cutting and preparation of food items was recently issued a patent. A first section has a plurality of apertures and a cut resistant surface. A second liquid impermeable section is disposed adjacent the first section. A fold line is located between the first section and the second section. Folds along the fold line form the cutting sheet. An absorbent material has first and second sections folded along the fold line and moved relative to one another to form a pocket. The absorbent material is disposed in the pocket between the first and second sections. A surface of the first section that faces the absorbent material in a folded position and a surface of the second section that faces the absorbent material in the folded position are roughened or textured in order to prevent slippage of the absorbent material within the sheet when folded.
