An absorbent fibrous foam, comprising of a water insoluble fiber and a superabsorbent material has been patented. The absorbent fibrous foam comprises a fluid intake capacity of at least 15 g/g, a vertical wicking distance of at least 10 cm, and an absorbency under zero load of at least 15 g/g.
