An outer surface sheet for absorbent articles has been patented. The sheet contains a central part and two side parts of inelastic materials. Each of the parts have two longitudinal edge portions and adjacent longitudinal edge portions, with respective side parts that mutually overlap each other. The flaps also comprise a barrier flap extending along each of the longitudinal edge portions, characterized in the barrier flaps. Each barrier flap is comprised of a strip of elastic material with two long and end edge portions, with one of the long edge portions inserted in a stretched state between the overlapping central part’s longitudinal edge portion and the respective side part.
