INDA’s RISE 2013, the Research, Innovation & Science for Engineered Fabrics conference, will be held September 30-October 3, 2013 at the Grand Hyatt, Denver, CO. Described as a one-of-a-kind technical conference for professionals in the nonwoven/engineered fabric industry who scout for new ideas, new technology, new materials and new applications to grow their business. RISE 2013 will provide an array of mind-expanding industry relevant topics that will keep business growth professionals on the leading edge of thought leadership.
Some of this year’s main topics will include revolutionary three-dimensional textile printing technology, market trends driving innovation in nonwovens, simple, cost-efficient RFID tagging for hygiene applications, microfluidic-fabric interfacial technology for biofluid manipulation, next generation nanofiber applications and the new role of nanoparticles in polymer processing.
Dave Rousse, INDA’s president, says, “RISE brings together many diverse members of the global nonwovens/engineered fabrics supply chain and those touching this dynamic area. There are two-and-a-half days of thought-provoking discussions on technical innovations and practical product applications. RISE also provides many opportunities to interact in person with like-minded executives looking to advance their business.”
A new feature at RISE 2013 will be a tour of the Johns Manville Technical Center on Monday, September 30. RISE attendees will see Johns Manville’s five specialized areas of technical services. JM is internationally accredited, and equipped with modern instrumentation and very knowledgeable professionals. INDA will also host a tour of Coors Field followed by a welcome reception Monday night for all attendees to network before RISE kicks off officially Tuesday morning.
“Dine with Industry Thought Leaders” is another new networking opportunity this year at RISE and it will be held Tuesday evening. This special dinner event provides RISE attendees the ability to meet with thought leaders from select areas of the value chain to learn about what is trending, fading and on the horizon.
RISE will also feature the third annual RISE Durable Product Award. Attendees will chose the winner from three unique durable products, which were chosen for their innovative use of nonwovens. The finalists will make product presentations during the conference
The three RISE Durable Product Award finalists are:
Bonar: Colback Profloor is a nonwoven backing that improves the tuftability for carpet producers. Along with enhanced tuftability, Profloor has a greater stitch holding performance and provides improved carpet appearance. Website: www.bonar.com
Dell Seven & GMX, Inc.: ThermalDrain is a patented synthetic protection board for below grade waterproofing that is an alternative to fiberglass. ThermalDrain is durable with no skin irritation, easy to install, formaldehyde-free and has excellent drainage. Website: www.gmxco.com
RIT International: NLITe Nanofiber Light Improvement Technology is an innovative technology platform for the lighting industry using nonwovens. This technology can be applied to any lighting fixture that creates 20% more light while using 0% more energy. NLITe provides efficient light diffusion and improved glare resistance for overall better light quality.
