The Fostoria City Council in Ohio has approved a measure to help Carolina Nonwovens expand its operations in the area. Carolina Nonwovens, a maker of nonwovens for applications including acoustic and thermal insulation, foam replacement and industrial and construction products, is preparing to open a plant in the area, near one of its main customers Treves, Inc. as well as other suppliers to the automotives and trucking industry.
A subsidiary of Washington, NC-based National Spinning Company, Carolina Nonwovens is based in Maiden, NC where it invested in a $12 million plant in 2015. In addition to acoustic applications for automotives applications, the company makes nonwovens of varying thickness to replace foam in outdoor cushions, bedding and other noise-dampening applications.
