Birla Cellulose has appointed Rahul Bansal as the new head of its Global Nonwovens Business. Bansal will be responsible for driving the business’s P&L targets and strategic growth for Birla’s global nonwoven business.
Bansal, who has over 25 years of experience in the fibers, yarns, nonwovens and wet wipes industries, joined Birla Cellulose in May 2010 as the assistant vice president, sales and marketing, and was responsible for global business development and key account sales for the nonwovens business. Prior to joining Birla, Bansal held positions at Ginni Nonwovens and Century Enka.
Birla has been building its brand “Purocel” by strongly investing in the three pillars of Sustainability, Innovation and Partnership.
“We have been closely working with our customers and nonwoven value chain to introduce game changing innovations, with certified and the highest rated sustainable fibers by global independent rating agencies like Canopy,” says Bansal. “I look forward to further accelerating the co-created end-product innovations. With movement towards plastic-free nonwoven single use products, we will strongly focus on providing biodegradable and compostable product alternatives with improved performance for brands and retailers to help with a quick and smooth product transition.”
