Ihsan Sons, the 75 year-Pakistani vertically integrated company producing from bleached cotton fibers to cotton wipes, has installed a solar panel system at its nonwovens facility in Lahore, Pakistan. The company specializes in cotton nonwovens, both in organic and conventional cotton for manufacturing of medical, femcare, cosmetic and wipes. The products that are behind many common household products.
As part of its sustainability journey, Ihsan Sons has committed to shrink its climate impact with clean energy as part of the solution. The system went live on October 26. The new 600 kW system is poised to supply over 870,000 kWh each year and avoid an estimated 100 tons of CO2 a year, equivalent to planting 5,450 trees.
The entire energy will go towards the facility. This is the first PV system, hence a huge step for the company, with the goal to cut the emissions in half in the next one to two years. Ihsan Sons wants to exploit every meaningful opportunity to meet that goal. This new accomplishment is helping the company to do exactly that. While celebrating, the company is poised to look ahead to the next project.
