Nehemiah Manufacturing Co., maker of Boogie Wipes and Kandoo Flushable Wipes, has introduced Saline Soothers — gentle wipes for sore noses.
According to a new survey done for Nehemiah, the vast majority of Americans (93%), think having a runny nose is annoying and 81% are annoyed by not having tissues when they need them. When they don't have tissues close by, the company reports that 41% of Americans have wiped their noses on their sleeve and 38% have used their hand. Neither of these are very soft or sanitary. Thus, Nehemiah launched Saline Soothers to protect clothing and provide soothing relief.
"Colds and allergies can result in noses becoming sore and irritated. Saline nose wipes, like Saline Soothers, provide soothing moisture without irritation and the sterile saline dissolves mucus to help gently clean the nose, " says Dr. Justin Greiwe, MD Board Certified allergist and immunologist. "They are made with natural saline, aloe, chamomile and Vitamin E, and are a welcome relief for cold and allergy sufferers."
While drinking a hot beverage and eating chicken soup are the most popular home remedies for a cold, the company says almost half of the survey respondents (48%) indicated that they had used saline drops, nasal spray or rinse and 47% had tried to soothe their irritated noses with lotion, aloe or Vitamin E.
"Saline Soothers are hypoallergenic and alcohol-free and can help Americans get through the discomfort of having a cold or allergy," Dr. Greiwe adds.
Available in fragrance-free or menthol, Saline Soothers come in convenient re-sealable packages of 20 wipes, or multi-packs of three packages (60 wipes) that easily fit into pockets and purses. They are available in the Cough/Cold aisle at Walgreens and Rite Aid and are also available at Amazon.com for the suggested retail price of $2.99 for a single pack and $8.49 for the multi-pack.
