Kao completes second Indonesian plant

Japanese diaper maker Kao Corp. announced this week it completed construction of a second plant in Indonesia dedicated to manufacturing diapers for infants and laundry detergents.

The Tokyo-based consumer and chemical products giant said the plant will be operated by its subsidiary PT Kao Indonesia. It is located in the Karawang International Industrial City in Karawang Regency, West Java. Also located in West Java, PT Kao Indonesia's first plant  manufactures laundry detergent, as well as sanitary napkins and body cleansers.

The two plants are expected to provide a stable supply of consumer products to the growing Indonesian market and serve as production bases for exports to other Asian countries, according to Kao.
