Fitesa, a global nonwoven fabrics manufacturer, and Imerys, a global supplier of white industrial minerals, have formed a patent license agreement. In this agreement, Imerys gains the global and exclusive right to sub-license certain Fitesa patent rights to other spunmelt nonwoven producers.
Imerys is the first company to successfully design a mineral, FiberLink 201S, for use in high speed nonwoven manufacturing. As a result of this agreement, Fitesa and Imerys expect to grow demand for cost-effective, mineral-filled spunmelt nonwovens addressed in their respective patents.
"We are excited to announce this agreement with Fitesa, a technological leader in this industry, to provide additional avenues for expanding the use of FiberLink 201S technology in high-speed nonwovens manufacturing around the world," says Rich Ryan, a senior Imerys executive.
Imerys is a world leader in mineral-based specialty solutions. With €3.9 billion revenue in 2012 and 16,000 employees, Imerys offers a range of minerals to deliver essential functions that are critical to its customers' products and manufacturing processes.
Fitesa is a leader in the design and manufacture of nonwoven fabric solutions for the global hygiene market. With a global reach from its manufacturing sites across the globe, Fitesa employs a wide range of nonwoven production technologies to meet customer requirements for service, quality, and flexibility.
