3M has named Inge Thulin president and CEO, succeeding Sir George Buckley, chairman and CEO, who will retire June 1. Thulin will immediately become part of 3M’s board of directors and Buckley remains chairman of the board until the Annual Meeting of Stockholders on May 8, at which time the board intends to elect Thulin chairman.
Thulin has served a CEO since May 2011. During this time, he was responsible for 3M’s xi business segments and International Operations. Prior to that, he was executive vice president of International Operations.
Buckley had served as 3M CEO since 2005.
