The Filtration 2011 conference opened yesterday with two tutorials to provide information on the filtration market. The first Filtration 101 tuotiral, was instructed by Steve Ogel, director of Technical Affairs at INDA, R. Vijayakumar, president of Aerfil and Robert Kurkhead, president of Blue Heaven Technologies. This tutorial introduced the essentials to newcomers to the field of filtration and acted as a refresher course for those looking to revist the industry. This tutorial was held yesterday morning at Navy Pier.
The afternoon session, Filtration 201, introduced attendees to air and liquid filtration and concluded with discussions on some common and not so common applications. Instructors included Al Veeck of the National Air Filtration Association, Abdoulaye Doucoure, of Hollingsworth & Vose, Steven Kinn, vice president of R.P. Dedder and Shawn Windlye, director of High Purity Products, at Flanders Precision Aire.
Today’s conference session, held 9-10:30 a.m. was a look at the last 20 years in filtration. Titled, “Twenty Years of Progress Looking into the Future,” the session featured executives from leading filtration companies such as Ahlstrom, AAF, Flanders and Hollingsworth & Vose and gave attendees a brief historical perspective of progress and market developments, a current view of the filtration market and look at future trends and dynamics in the business.
