BASF recently presented solutions that can help automotive manufacturers be successful. The presentations took place at the Society of Plastics Engineers Automotive Composites Conference & Exhibition (SPE ACCE), Sept. 15-16, in Troy, MI.
“BASF offers versatile, customized solutions that contribute to weight reduction, sustainability and material replacement. We help our customers in the automotive industry make high-performance composites even for the most demanding applications,” said Gero Nordmann, market development manager for BASF in North America.
BASF experts delivered two presentations during the conference, “Eco-friendly Copolymers Offering Clean Manufacturing, Reduced VOC Emissions, Excellent Performance,” by Gero Nordmann and “Design and Part Performance Testing for Thermoplastic Automotive Oil Pans - North American Market,” by Ray Ballou.
Diethard Schneider, ContiTech Vibration Control, presented “High Duty: Lightweight Polyamide Engine Mount.” The presentation included an overview of how BASF’s Ultramid A3WG10 CR thermoplastic material contributed to the successful weight reduction of the transmission cross-beam designed by ContiTech for the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo 550i.
