Film For Interior Panel

November 1, 2009

Johnson Controls and Nordenia Deutschland have developed Nordenia film for the scratch-resistant map pocket of a premium vehicle and the rear side panel of a convertible. Nordenia film has a very good deep drawing ability, an even and consistent grain and a high scratch-resistance, according to the company. These products are produced by Johnson Controls and supplied by Nordenia Deutschland. A further specific advantage of the film lies in the adjustable gloss level. The multilayer film can be adjusted in its gloss and cross-linking level. The adjustment of the film gloss makes it possible to adjust the film optic to adjacent components without difficulty. The prefabricated parts are resistant to damage in long-term use, as the chipping experienced on painted surfaces is eliminated. Johnson Controls calls this back-molded film process PP Thin-Film technology and claims that this new film is suited to numerous interior components whose design allows them to be covered with film.
