Fibertex’s personal care division is expanding its capacity in Malaysia to match the continued demand in the growing market as well as to develop new products. Representing a DKK 40 million investment, the addition of an extra beam at one of the company’s two Malaysian spunmelt lines will increase capacity by about 4000 tons, according to Mikael Staal Axelsen, CEO of Fibertex Personal Care. The addition is expected to be complete by the second quarter of next year.
Mr. Axelsen stressed that the investment will ensure continued growth in the Asian market while creating the opportunity to develop new products. “We will be able to meet the increasing demand and also be able to supply new products of high quality,” he said.
The company expects further expansion in the future to be driven by increasing demand from consumers for softer, lighter and more decorative diapers.
Fibertex established the Malaysian site in 2003 and expanded it two years later.
