TAPPI has appointed Simona Marcellus director of marketing. Ms. Marcellus will direct the development of an integrated marketing strategy for TAPPI products, creating unified outreach programs for membership, events and publications. She will also focus on broadening awareness of TAPPI’s involvement in expanding markets such as bioenergy, nanotechnology and nonwovens while tailoring TAPPI offerings to meet the changing needs of its current and prospective members.
Ms. Marcellus has been with TAPPI for almost eight years, during which she has worked in the marketing department and with TAPPI Press. As marketing director, she brings a new perspective to TAPPI’s marketing initiatives based on her prior experience with a large consumer products corporation and a software development company. In those positions, Ms. Marcellus developed a variety of skills, including interactive marketing, creative development, branding, strategy development and project management.
In other news, TAPPI named Lisa Hightower to the role of TAPPI Press operations manager. Ms. Hightower has more than 18 years of experience with TAPPI, working closely with membership, TAPPI Journal, e-publications and TAPPI Press. Her extensive knowledge in TAPPI operations will provide valuable support to improving the efficiency and facilitating continued growth of TAPPI Press.
