Dow Reichold Closes Plant, Increases Prices

Measures meet market demands.

Dow Reichhold Specialty Latex has announced the permanent closing of its manufacturing plant located in Chickamauga, GA. The closing will be effective on August 31, 2008. The facility employs 57 people. Products currently manufactured in the facility will be transferred to other manufacturing sites. “This rationalization of production capacity is necessary to bring our capability in line with current market demand,” said Jeffrey Welker, president of Dow Reichhold.

In other news, Dow Reichold Specialty Latex has announced a price incurease of eight cents per pound for all specialty latex products sold in North America with the exception of products sold for glove manufacturing, which will have a separate price increase.
