Dow Prices Go Up

June 5, 2008

Costs for oil, transportation expected to continue.

Dow Reichhold Specialty Latex, Research Triangle Park, NC, has announced a price increase of 15%, or a minimum of $0.10/wet pound, for all specialty latex products sold in North America with the exception of products sold for glove manufacturing. A separate announcement has been made on global price adjustments for nitrile latexes used in glove manufacturing. The increase will be effective June 15, 2008, and is in addition to all recently announced increases.

“All leading indicators confirm that the costs for oil, natural gas, chemical feedstocks and transportation will continue to rise throughout 2008,” said Dave Gartshore, vice president for global sales for the company. “As a company we remain committed to maintaining reasonable margins that allow us to continue to invest in product technology and manufacturing resources to help meet customer needs.”
