Biax, Dan-Web Launch Joint Development Agreement

New technology combines meltblowing with airforming of woodpulp fibers.

Biax-Fiberfilm and Dan-Web Forming Intl. A/S have signed an agreement to develop new technology combining meltblowing with airforming of woodpulp fibers. To demonstrate these capabilities, a 0.5 meter-wide pilot line is being jointly established at Biax’s Greenville, WI facility. Key markets for these technologies will be personal and industrial wipes, filtration media and spill control products; however, the potential to use a variety of thermal plastic and natural fibers may provide opportunities in a range of different product areas.

Both companies will be represented and available for discussions at the upcoming World of Wipes (WOW) conference in Chicago, June 16-18.
