Polymer Group, Inc. (PGI) will raise prices on polypropylene-based materials sold in North America due to significantly higher oil-based raw material and energy costs. The company will increase prices 5-7% on these products, effective June 1. Polypropylene is a key element in manufacturing high-quality spunbond materials used in various products, including diapers and hygiene products.
“While we continue to focus on manufacturing efficiencies to mitigate increases, we must face the market realities of escalating energy and raw material costs,” said PGI’s vice president and general manager for North America, Greg Crawford. “These increases are necessary for us to continue to deliver high quality, innovative products and excellent technical service to the market at a fair price.”
