Thrace LInq, a 100% subsidiary of the Thrace Plastics Group, has placed an order for a new needling line to increase its production capacity aiming at further expanding in the U.S. market.
The new line, supplied by nsc nonwoven, will have a capacity in excess of 7000 tons per year and will feature innovations such as an Excelle card, ProDyn and Ouat!sys. Further innovation developments will also be part of the delivery. These technologies allow the production of light and medium nonwoven fabrics at outstanding high production speeds, with excellent tensile strength properties where conventional technologies would compromise fabric evenness and productivity.
In early 2007, Thrace Plastics successfully started up a nonwoven geotextile line supplied by NSC nonwoven (Asselin-Thibeau) for its facilities in Greece. In May 2007, Thrace Linq proceeded with the acquisition of the agro and geo divisions of Linq, a long-established geotextile producer in South Carolina.Thrace Linq intends to quickly develop its sales in the U.S. market by taking advantage of the competitive edges provided by the latest process and technology innovations part of the NSC nonwoven equipment.
