Pegas Nonwovens has set up a legal entity for its ninth production line under the name Pegas NS. The Czech nonwovens producer registered the wholly-owned subsidiary in early December as investment incentives for this line are being negotiated with the Czech Government agency CzechInvest. Upon acceptance of these incentives Pegas NS will have three years to put the ninth production line into commercial production.
The bulk of Pegas’ nonwovens sales are conducted in the hygiene commodity market; however the percentage of sales in this market are decreasing as the company looks to other markets including medical and industrial.
Pegas' eighth line became commercial in late 2007. According to executives, the ninth line is in sync with its plans to continue to invest in new machinery for future growth.
