Czech-based producer Pegas SA officially launched its eighth production line last week at its plant in Znojmo, Czech Republic. The opening was attended by top officials from the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Representing a total investment of approximately €40 million, construction of the facility began in October 2006. Installation of the production line is on time and on budget. Currently the new line is producing a small amount of commercially saleable product. The line is being fine-tuned and production capacity will be steadily increased to full production by January 2008.
The SSMMMS 3200 Reicofil 4 Special production line is state-of-the-art technology and, according to the company, is the first of its kind in the world. The system can produce ultra light weight nonwoven textiles for the hygiene sector as well as for other applications.
Depending on the final product mix, the new production line is expected to increase the company’s annual production output by approximately 28% or approximately 15,000 tons to a total of approximately 69,000 tons annual production.
