April 23, 2007

Plans are underway at Israeli roll goods producer Avgol to expand its Mocksville, NC manufacturing facility by adding 15,000 metric tons of Reicofil spunmelt capacity. Scheduled for start-up during the second quarter of 2008, the company’s second line was added in October 2004, and its third line was added in September 2005, since acquiring the North America factory in June 2001.
Currently, the Avgol Mocksville, NC site operates three Reicofil SSMMS production lines. The factory has been running at full capacity for the last five years. The total additional investment for the fourth line is approximately $30 million for the spunmelt machine and all related auxiliary and finishing equipment.

Avgol Nonwovens is a global spunmelt producer operating manufacturing plants in Israel, China, and the U.S. Additionally, Avgol is currently building a new spunmelt factory in Uzlovaya, Russia to start production in the fourth quarter of 2007 on a new 3.2 meter Reifenhauser SMMS machine.
