Neumag has established an engineering team with local people at its Shanghai, China office. The new staff members are experienced engineers coming mainly out of the local airlaid and airlaid machinery industry. Neumag’s Shanghai office was established in 1993 and already provides sales and technical service to the Chinese markets. The initial team will include four engineers, an interpreter and a technical coordinator but the company expects to eventually expand the staff to 10 members. Technically, the new team will report to and work closely with Neumag Denmark.
The implementation of engineering know-how in China will allow Neumag to improve its performance by offering tailor-made airlaid plants to local customers as well as making use of these new capabilities for different projects worldwide, according to the company. The set-up of the local staff in China is a crucial step towards extending Neumag’s product range by offering modular turnkey plants from mid to high tier necessities. This includes cost efficient airlaid lines for the low and mid tier range using a drum forming technology, complementing the high performance lines on the basis of M&J technology.
