Ahlstrom Adds To Glass Fiber Investment

Ahlstrom  will invest an additional €5 million ($6.3 million) in a new specialty glassfiber reinforcement plant in the U.S. Ahlstrom announced in June that it would invest €5.2 million in a specialty glass fiber reinforcement plant in Bishopville, SC. The additional investment will allow Ahlstrom to increase the production capacity of the plant, ensuring it will be able to serve fast growing specialty reinforcement markets, particularly in wind energy, marine and transportation industries. The investment will consist of new machinery and appropriate infrastructure.
