Conwed To Acquire Netlon

Published October 13, 2005
Conwed, a Minneapolis, MN-based supplier of high-performance netting, will acquire Netlon from Tensar International. Headquartered in Blackburn, U.K., Netlon manufactures products for filtration, industrial parts protection, agricultural and ground stabilization. Conwed will begin servicing Netlon’s customers immediately. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

“Our acquisition of Netlon expands our global manufacturing capabilities and will enable us to provide further value to our local and international customers,” explained Henk Brouwers, managing director European operations.

Earlier this year Conwed acquired U.S.-based NSW, LLC, a move that advanced its diamond mesh technology. With the acquisition of Netlon, its diamond mesh capacity has further increased worldwide.

Conwed is also acquiring Netlon Turf Systems from Tensar. “Conwed is an expert in landscape solutions from turf reinforcement to erosion control,” Mr. Brouwers said. “We are excited to grow our landscape business with the addition of Netlon Turf Systems.”

Together with Netlon, the company will now have combined revenue of more than $100 million and extensive manufacturing capabilities that will increase Conwed’s reach into additional markets.
