Fiber Prices To Increase

September 7, 2005

Austrian cellulose fiber producer The Lenzing Group has announced plans to increase fiber prices beginning in the fourth quarter. Increases of at least 5%, depending on fiber type, are expected, taking effect October 1. The increases will apply to fibers for both textile and nonwoven applications. According to Lenzing, the price hikes are in line with the general industry trend toward higher priced synthetic fibers and are a response to considerable increases in raw material and energy prices that have recently become more pronounced.
