Filtration Group has entered into an alliance with Mikropor, a Turkish filter manufacturing company. The partnership will allow both companies to broaden their gas turbine product lines and expand their global presence. Filtration Group and Mikropor reportedly saw value in the alliance because of their combined experience in gas turbine filtration, an established but growing segment in the filtration industry. Power plants place great importance on the quality of their filters because one defective unit can cause millions of dollars worth of damage to the turbine. Mikropor produces more than 500 different types of filters and filtration systems, including air and liquid filtration, and compressed air and gas filtration. The company will blend its products with Filtration Group's variety of HVAC nonwoven media including high-loft and meltblown filter media.
The alliance also marks the second major global business move that Filtration Group has made within the last six months; the first being the acquisition of Netherlands-based Filtrair in June.
