Ason, Nordson Settle Suit

November 30, 2004

Nordson Corporation's spunbond technology has been found to be distinct from spunbond technology developed by fellow spunbond machinery supplier Ason Neumag. The two parties recently settled litigation pertaining to patents covering the technology in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Ason Neumag, a division of Sauer GmbH, had alleged that Nordson infringed on three of its U.S. patents. Nordson had counterclaimed for a declaration of invalidity and unenforceability of the Ason patents as well as for a declaration of non-infringement. The claim and counterclaim have been dismissed without prejudice.
