Updates on how U.S. states, EU countries will handle legislation

Growing concerns over legislation limiting the use of single use plastics—and its expected impact on the wipes market—will be a key topic at this year's World of Wipes Conference. Day one of the event, Tuesday, July 13, will feature dual sessions on Wipes and the Growing Plastics Debate, featuring presentation from representatives of legal teams, trade associations and members of the wipes industry supply chain.

Among these speakers is Gil Stevens, external relations and sustainability director, EDANA, who will present an update on the European Single Use Plastics Directive including harmonization across the EU, the implementation of the directive across countries and what to expect from the extended producer responsibility requirement.

Additionally, Andrew Hackman, principal lobbyist at Serlin Haley, will provide an update on State Plastic Policies covering how individual U.S. states are approaching plastic related policy developments and product end-of-life issues.
