Line addition to be dedicated to technical textiles
General Nonwovens, a leading global manufacturer of nonwoven fabrics, will invest €40 million in a new production line dedicated to technical textiles. This strategic expansion aligns with the company’s long-term vision of diversifying its product portfolio while maintaining its strong presence in the hygiene sector.
Despite global economic slowdowns, General Nonwovens is moving forward with a state-of-the-art production line designed by its in-house project team. This advanced line features multi-layer composite technology, uniquely designed for automotive, filtration, home care, and technical textile applications.
“This investment is a testament to our ongoing dedication to innovation and market expansion” says Alican Yilankirkan, board member of General Nonwovens. “The production line is a one-of-its-kind system that not only strengthens our presence in the technical textiles sector but also serves as a market-opening initiative that expands our portfolio. Production is expected to begin by mid 2025.”
General Nonwovens continues to integrate energy-efficient and sustainable manufacturing processes. By enabling lower basis weight fabric production, the company offers customers high-quality solutions with reduced material usage, contributing to circular economy.
General Nonwovens has already demonstrated its commitment to excellence in hygiene applications through the successful implementation of Reicofil 5+ technology, which is now fully operational. Latest generation Reicofil investment, completed earlier, has enabled the company to provide customers with enhanced product variety and superior quality at competitive prices. The advanced production system optimizes efficiency while ensuring high-performance materials that excel in both physical parameters and quality.
What differentiates General Nonwovens in the market is the strategic integration of advanced features such as energy efficiency and an anti-contamination package. The Reicofil 5+ production line operates at speeds of up to 1200 m/min, providing a significant competitive advantage over conventional configurations. These enhancements reinforce the company’s leadership in sustainability, operational excellence and industry-leading performance, ensuring that customers receive high-quality, efficient and reliable products.
General Nonwovens remains a trusted supplier in multiple industries, offering high-performance nonwoven fabrics under its well-established brands:
✔ HyGen – For hygiene and personal care applications
✔ FilterGen – High-performance materials for filtration applications
✔ AutoGen – Durable nonwovens for the automotive sector
