Absorbent pad can be dispensed on traditional toilet roll dispensers
Egal pads on a roll, one of this year’s Hygienix Innovation Award finalists, are designed to be used in bathroom stalls, providing menstruators access to an absorbent product in public places. The 4"X9" inch pad is super thin, absorbent and comfortable using a range of air though bonded and airlaid nonwovens as well as superabsorbent polymers and fluff pulp.
According to CEO Penelope FInnie, the product aims to make period products as ubiquitous as toilet paper in public restrooms. They can be used on standard dispensners or on the Egal version, which is optimized for the pads on a roll.
It is not designed to replace consumer products but instead provide a solution for away from home markets.
“What is clear is that this whole away from home market is emerging so quickly that here is a massive shortage. It is exciting to be a part of this gender equity in the bathrooms,” says Finnie.
