At Filtration 2016, DelStar Technologies (Booth 702) is showcasing its new Alphastar Triboelectric Media for high efficiency filtration.
The proprietary fiber blend is carded and needled into a fully homogenous material. The needlefelt exhibits and electrostatic charge that benefits multiple air filtration applications. Alphastar media can be combined with DelStar’s netting and meltblown products for further product improvements.
AlphaStar media is designed to maximize two filtration mechanisms to capture and retain particles. The electrostatic action acts like a magnet, attracting both positively and negatively charged particles. As these particles begin to fibrillate, they increase the media’s mechanical filtration effects.
The media is ideally suited for various air filtration applications. According to the company, it exhibits high dust loading capacity with low pressure drop for vacuum bags, cabin air filters and HVAC furnace filters. It provides low resistance, but excellent particulate and bacterial filtration efficiency for facemasks and breathing circuit filters.
