Ultrasonic solutions eliminate the need for adhesives, solvents and fasteners.

At Filtration 2016, Branson Ultrasonics (Booth 609), a world leader in plastics joining technologies, is offering nonwoven manufactures solutions that enable them to create superior, cost effective filtration.

Controlled by the newly developed DCX power supply, Branson’s equipment provides manufacturers unprecedented process control and information feedback, including patented Amplitude-Stepping and Ethernet/field-bus communication/configuration abilities.

The ultrasonic process is used in the nonwovens industry for material slitting/cutting processes providing the ability to cut and seal edges with advanced precision, preventing fraying along the edges, as well as converting and bonding of textiles, carpeting, geotextiles as well as filtration, medical, consumer and hygiene products.

Additional benefits include: protecting delicate filter membranes from damage during the joining procedure, eliminating the need for adhesives, solvents, or fasteners; the equipment does not require lengthy warm up times—bonds are accomplished quickly (under 500-milliseconds); and it prevents heat induced stresses, thereby maintaining product integrity.

Branson teams with integrators and manufacturers, providing OEM customers with equipment that can be installed seamlessly and integrated into automated systems.
