Nutek Disposables, Inc., announced last week that its baby wipes products—both its own brand, Cuties, and a number of major store brands—are now available again in retail stores following resolution of a quality issue that occurred last year. Most of the company’s U.S. customers have resumed selling baby wipes manufactured by Nutek and the products can now be found on shelves.
“We are committed to providing high-quality baby wipes products to our customers,” the company said in a statement.
Last October, Nutek issued a nationwide voluntary product recall at the retail level of all lots of baby wipes manufactured under the brand names Cuties, Diapers.com, Femtex, Fred's, Kidgets, Member's Mark, Simply Right, Sunny Smiles, Tender Touch, and Well Beginnings, because some packages might have contained a bacteria called Burkholderia cepacia (B. cepacia). These wipes were distributed to Walgreens, Sam's Club, Family Dollar, Fred's and Diapers.com.
