Andritz Perfojet has sold three lines in China in recent months, confirming its position as a leading supplier of spunlace technology. One of the lines, to BG Filter Group, is being billed as the largest hydroentanglement line the world has ever seen. At 6.6 meters, it is a full 1.6 meters wider than any known existing line. The capacity on this line will be 19,000 tons per year and it will be able to run polypropylene and polyester continuous monofilaments. It is scheduled for start up early next year.
Meanwhile, to Zhejiang Spread Non-Woven New Material Co. Ltd., Andritz Perfojet will supply a Jetlace Avantage hydroentanglement unit and a Perfodry Avantage through-air dryer with a working width of 3.6 meters. The spunlace line, with a total capacity of 7000 tons per year, will make lightweight fabrics for the wipes and hygiene markets, when it begins operation early next year.
The third line will be designed to produce hygiene and coating substrate fabrics for Jiaxing Furuisen Spunlace Nonwovens Co. This Jetlace Avantage equipment will be made at the Andritz Chinese site in Foshan and will also be ready to start up in the first quarter of 2012.
