General Nonwovens is a producer of polypropylene (PP) spunbond, SMS nonwovens, polyester (PET) spunbond, air through bonded nonwovens. Spunbond nonwovens made of PLA (a biodegradable material) is also available in the product portfolio.
General Nonwovens produces spunbond and SMS nonwovens in a range of 10-200 gsm in widths up 3.30 meters for hygiene, automotive, filtration, agriculture and technical applications. Carded air-through-bonded nonwovens are produced in a range of 18-100 gsm up to 2.4 meter width and are served for the hygiene and filtration industries.
General Nonwovens’ brands include HyGen for hygiene and personal care products, FilterGen for filtration products, TexGen for coated and laminated fabrics as well as home textiles, AutoGen for the automotive industry, AgriGen for agriculture and horticulture applications, and IndiGen for industrial and technical textiles.
Alican Yilankirkan, business development director of General Nonwovens, says: “General Nonwovens has two production plants in Turkey with an annual capacity of 20,000 metric tons. General Nonwovens will be exhibiting nonwoven roll goods for hygiene, automobile applications, technical textiles, carriers for extrusion coating, lamination and layers for composites during the exhibition as well as spunbond nonwovens made of PLA, which is a biopolymer derived from corn. Starch-based PLA nonwovens are 100% nature-based and are biodegradable.’’
