According to China Customs, there was a double-digit decline in import volume and import value of tissue paper in the first half of 2022, with import volume of about 18,900 tons. Exports of tissue paper remained posivite, up 14.04% to about 360,700 tons.
In the first half of 2022, the import volume of absorbent hygiene products decreased by 29.82% year on year to 39,000 tons, among which baby diapers, which accounted for the largest proportion, decreased by 34.25%. The exports of absorbent hygiene products maintained an overall growth momentum. The export volume, the export value and the average price of exports all increased year on year, among which the export volume increased by 12.40% to about 543,000 tons.
In the first half of 2022, China’s wipes trade was dominated by exports, the import volume was less than one-tenths of the export volume, but the export volume has declined. The export volume and export value of wipes decreased by 28.69% and 17.35% year on year, respectively, with the export volume of about 266,000 tons.
