Heartland Polymers has named Todd Karran, CEO. He brings 35 years of experience to the petrochemicals industry, including tenure as president and CEO at Nova Chemicals between 2015 and 2020. Prior to that, he served as the CFO from 2009 through to 2016 at Nova.
Karran has been intrigued by the Heartland Polymers project since hearing about it while attending an energy conference when it was first announced. “It was clearly a unique project, being the only one of its kind in Canada. Seeing Heartland embrace the CIAC’s Responsible Care program and its commitment to working alongside partnerships like the Alliance to End Plastic Waste, Plastics Research in Action and Operation Clean Sweep really intrigued me," he says. "It was a clear indicator that this organization is focused on doing things the right way.”
