Kimberly-Clark Australia has employees at its Ingleburn Mill in Sydney of its plan to cease operations at the facility towards the end of July 2019, as part of its global restructuring program. The closure will impact up to 220 roles. Production from Ingleburn, which makes Huggies diapers, will move to K-C facilities in Asia, allowing faster access to the latest research and engineering advancements in diapaer and pant.
Kimberly-Clark Australia remains committed to providing consumers in Australia and New Zealand with the highest quality products to meet their needs. Products and innovations will continue to be designed by a local product development team, and guided by a deep understanding of local consumer insights.
Kimberly-Clark will continue to locally manufacture Kleenex, VIVA and Kimberly-Clark Professional products at its Millicent Mill in South Australia.
K-C announced last year it would embark on a global restructuring program that would lead to the closure of about 10 plants globally and a workforce reduction of 5000-5500.
