Simativa, an Australian-based company specializing in smart diaper technology, has entered into a marketing agreement with Drylock Technologies, a European-based manufacturer of baby diapers and other hygiene products. The 12-month agreement targets the sale of adult and infant products using Simavita's AlertPLUS platform technology. During this period, the parties will seek out and identify tender opportunities with large mass market customers and work exclusively with one another in relation to these opportunities.
AlertPLUS is a low-cost wearable sensor that can send data from diapers to a smart phone application. The sensor which forms part of a manufactured diaper to capture secured data including urine loss which is sent to a smart device (phone, tablet or computer) through an app.
The sensors form part of the materials used in the manufacturing process. Because few costs associated with manufacturing, costs to the end user are marginal. Apps downloaded are simple to use and require no advanced training.
"This marketing agreement is important to the company as it is an outstanding validation of our PIVOT strategy and an excellent commercial start to the tremendous opportunity that we believe has now been established," says chairman Michael Spooner.
The sensors also provide a platform for Simavita to develop new applications and to alter existing applications, which are available for download via commercially available app stores.
