California news outlets are reporting that Kimberly-Clark's Fullerton, CA site will be among 10 sites closed as part of the company's global restructuring plan. The facility, which is located 28 miles outside of Los Angeles, makes consumer products like Scott toilet tissue and Kleenex as well as professional products including KimWipes and KayDry wipers. It employs 300 workers.
Last month, K-C announced it was launching a global restructuring plan that would lead to the closure of 10 plants and 5000-5500 workers worldwide. Earlier this month, Wisconsin news outlets reported that two sites in that state would be impacted. The sites, a nonwovens operation in Neenah and a Depends adult incontinence product facility in Fox Crossing, together employ about 600 people.
