Rodewisch GmbH, a manufacturer of premium paper machine clothing, has opened a sales and service office to support its growing customer base in Canada and the U.S. After successfully servicing mills and other customers through their factory in Saxony, the company took the next step to better serve their customers in the paper, pulp, nonwovens, filtration and wood products industries in North America.
CEO Dr. Peter Klose says, “We have reached a point where we need to be closer to our customer base in the USA. We will be more effective in handling inquiries and providing service support with our own, permanent office”.
Rodewisch opened an office in Brewer, ME in March and “Rodewisch, Inc.” will be managed by its new head of sales Peter Witt. Witt comes to Rodewisch from a career in consulting for European companies entering the North American market. Most recently, he managed a German sales subsidiary in New England, tripling its turnover in nine years.
The company focuses on specialized dryer fabrics that other suppliers usually do not offer, with a particular eye on smaller machines and single-fabric orders, delivered very quickly. Particular expertise is with difficult applications, requiring unique fabric materials, e.g.:
o PPS high temperature, woven and spiral dryer fabrics;
o Felted (Nomex or PES) spiral belts for heavier tissue papers;
o Anti-stick (teflon content) materials, spiral and woven, for dryer fabrics;
o Non-marking double seams and fabrics for fine papers;
o Antistatic belts for nonwoven applications.
