DAK Americas, a producer of PET resin, polyester staple fibers and raw materials for polyester-based products, has become a Founding Reporter of The Climate Registry, making them one of the first companies to join the organization. The Climate Registry is a non-profit organization established to measure and publicly report greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) in a common, accurate and transparent manner that is consistent across industry sectors and borders. Its founders include 39 U.S. states, six Canadian provinces, three Native American tribes, two Mexican states and the District of Columbia.
DAK Americas has demonstrated environmental stewardship on several fronts by voluntarily committing to annually measure, independently verify, and publicly report their GHG emissions utilizing The Climate Registry General Reporting Protocol. The protocol is based on the internationally recognized GHG measurement standards of the World Resources Institute and World Business Council on Sustainability.
DAK’s products exhibit properties that allow them to be recycled or reused into secondary markets and can be easy incorporated into municipal, post-consumer recycling programs—advancing DAK Americas’ support of business solutions that are economically, ecologically and socially responsible.
