DuPont led the field of IDEA Achievement Award winners this morning by taking home two awards—in the roll goods and raw material segments for its Hybrid Membrane Technology and Sorona polymer, respectively. “This is a great example of DuPont’s commitment to sustainability,” said Matt Trerotola, vice president and general manager of DuPont Nonwovens in accepting the award for Sorona.
Also taking home awards were Kimberly-Clark for its Huggies Pull-ups with Cool Alert in the short-life end product category; GeoPleat Air Filter from Filtration Group in the long-life end product category; Dienes for its Quik-Set Automatic Positioning System in the machinery and equipment category and Teknoweb, an Italian wipes converting machinery maker in the entrepreneur category.
The presentation of two lifetime achievement awards were another highlight of the IDEA07 Achievement Awards ceremony, sponsored by INDA, Association of the Nonwovens Fabrics Industry and Nonwovens Industry magazine. Lee Sullivan, a 30-year veteran of the industry with Kendall/Freudenberg and former chairman of INDA, was joined by long-time industry educator Dr. Edward Vaughn, professor emeritus at Clemson University, in receiving the coveted IDEA Lifetime Achievement Award.
“These two men are truly pioneers in the nonwovens industry and it is only fitting that they be honored here at IDEA07, an event both of them have played a role in developing and growing over the past three decades,” said
INDA president Rory Holmes. In addition to the Lifetime Awards, six winners of the IDEA07 Achievement Awards were announced. The Achievement Awards are presented at each IDEA to recognize the best products introduced since the previous IDEA.
