London’s BBA Group has announced plans to separate its Fiberweb business through a variety of options including demerger or sale. The Fiberweb business, which comprises BBA’s large nonwovens operation, reported sales above $1 billion last year and operates production facilities throughout the world.
BBA executives have indicated the other arm of the business, Aviation Services, which provides cargo and ground handling for 95 airports worldwide, will be better positioned without the Fiberweb division. Industry analysts have valued BBA's Fiberweb segment at £700 million. The separation is expected to occur within the next six months.
