Introducing Bostik’s NuplavivaTM series of renewably sourced adhesive solutions.
In line with the Bostik’s ‘Responsibly for Hygiene’ commitment, the launch of NuplavivaTM is the result of Bostik’s holistic approach to corporate social responsibility (CSR). This socially responsibleproduct line provides Bostik customers the opportunity to design products with a higher level of renewable content whilst:
- Utilising a variety of more sustainable substrates, as well as traditional substrates
- Enhancing efficiencies with a wide operational window for application temperatures, adhesive add-ons, and open time
- Reducing waste and increasing consumer confidence due to a powerful peel strength
Bostik’s launch of the first NuplavivaTM renewable adhesives currently consists of construction adhesives with 50% and 75% bio-sourced content respectively. These two products, along with future launches in the NuplavivaTM series, are enabling the next level of sustainability to come to life in disposable hygiene.
By choosing the right sustainable solutions, from the right partners, article producers can help change more than the hygiene product; they are able to improve resource conservation. On top of this, consumer perception of single-use disposable articles is improved,’ explains Christophe Morel-Fourrier, Bostik’s Global Marketing Manager, Market Insights and Sustainable Innovation.
‘One of the notable advantages from the use of NuplavivaTM is that we, and our customers, are reducing our mutual dependency on the use of fossil carbon. This is fitting with our circular model and the responsibility of us all to find solutions that enable reduction of our carbon footprint,’ notes Morel-Fourrier.
Actions and innovations for people and the planet
Consumers worldwide have a growing interest in how the absorbent articles they use are made and what goes into making them. Regardless of loyalty to your brand in the past, if your products, processes, and partnerships do not support today’s consumer sustainability expectations and desires, they will seek out a competitor that does.
Governmental agencies, regulatory bodies, and non-governmental organisations globally are also keeping an eye on the disposable hygiene industry. No matter if your company has a well-planned strategy or is just getting started, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations are a key driver for many of the CSR actions taken by manufacturers today. These goals have even led Bostik to establish its ownCSR policy aimed at creating value for all stakeholders in the production of disposable hygiene articles based on:
1. An offering of Sustainable Solutions driven by innovation
2. A commitment to act as a Responsible Manufacturer
3. An Open Dialogue with internal and external stakeholders
Backing you up as you move forward with sustainability
Best of all, each renewably sourced solution in the NuplavivaTM series can be run using your current adhesive application equipment and processes. There is no need to make any special changes, even at high line speeds.
‘NuplavivaTM 50 and NuplavivaTM 75 were formulated to align with the behavioural and performance properties of other Bostik disposable hygiene adhesives, so there will be no unexpected and unwanted surprises during article production,’ Morel-Fourrier assures.
